The seca 703 can be used wherever it is needed. As it is battery-operated, no wall outlet connection is necessary. The scale is easy to move around with its smooth running transport castors which can simply be wheeled wherever it is needed.

For the calculation of the BMI, the height can either be read and entered from the included measuring rod or received from a network-capable stadiometer. In addition to BMI calculation, many other functions facilitate everyday work: For example, the pre-TARE function, with which the weight for shoes and clothing is stored and deducted with each measurement. Or the three-stage damping system that filters out patient movements.

Integration capability means that the seca 703 is integrated into the hospital information system via the network. In this way, measured data can be sent directly to the digital patient file (EMR) at the touch of a button, where they are immediately available to all users. An additional USB barcode scanner is also used to document who measured whom and when (patient and user identification).

With the Interface Module the seca 703 can be refitted with minimum expense and effort to make it fully integrated via seca software. The module can be installed in a easy-to-assemble holder directly on the product and then configured via the central server. LEDs indicate readiness for use, give the user feedback on the scanned patient barcode and confirm successful transmission of measurements to the electronic medical record system.
